Gustav Klimt 

Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt from Austria continues his legacy well into the modern age with many of his works reproduced on contemporary consumer products.  The Kiss, one his most popular works of art, embraces the female body, often the focus of his paintings.  This respected work of art, completed in 1908, was painted during Klimt’s ‘Golden Phase’, during which he painted with gold leaf.  This technique though controversial in Klimt’s day, has endured and its application refined and carried on by today’s artists and craftspeople.
