Originally a pique assiette artisan, Jane Wonnell designed one-of-a-kind mosaics out of recycled glassware, coins and whimsical items creating something new from once useful objects. She admits that thinking outside the box gets her creative processes flowing. “Each piece evolves differently depending on shape, material, placement and color,” Wonnell says. “For me, life is a puzzle and so are mosaics. Jane’s penchant for reviving retro pieces and fashioning them into exclusive works of art evolved into her crafting clocks, boxes and frames using re-found jewelry, figurines, hardware, musical instruments, fabrics and the like. “I join together ordinary items in an unusual format and love to make the viewer wonder how I arrived at the selection and placement for each piece that results in a beautiful new treasure.” Jane Wonnell creates her artistry in Reston, Virginia.
