From a family of stylish women, passionate about wearing an eclectic mix of jewelry, Jody Lyons, designer of Joli Jewelry, began her business by creating jewelry for herself.  Her appreciation of all things vintage, Asian, African and European cultures, are the driving forces behind her colorful, fun and intriguing line of jewelry. Jody developed a love of the stylized periods of the 1920’s – 1960’s and found herself drawn to authentic and vintage elements. “Our aim is to share the love of and interest in not only new semi-precious, glass and metal components, but more strongly in the reuse of vintage glass, original plastics the likes of celluloid and Bakelite, old metal findings, old French enamels and mother of pearl pieces,” she says.  Joli Jewelry features a funky, modern/vintage line of limited edition pieces with an emphasis on the value of reusing materials that already exist. Each piece is accompanied by a hangtag with handwritten detail specific to each piece of jewelry.  Her small production runs are hand-made by a group of wonderful women in her Brooklyn, NY studio.
